The Ombudsman is provided with an annual budget through the State Budget process. It has effectively planned, implemented and evaluated its budget each year since its establishment.

The Ombudsman provides a proposal to the Council of Ministers which is then incorporated in the proposal State Budget and submitted to National Parliament.

The Ombudsman appears before the National Parliament, and in addition to justifying and explaining the budget proposal, the Ombudsman has the chance to request any additional budget which it may consider necessary.

The Ombudsman reports on its budget expenditure in its annual reports.
