As a young institution in a country with a largely rural population, the Ombudsman dedicates significant resources to education and outreach to ensure the community is aware of its role and empowered to make a complaint if needed.
Vulnerable groups that have been identified for specific outreach and information campaigns include women, children, people living in rural areas, those with low literacy, older people and people with disabilities.
The Ombudsman runs specific programs aimed at ensuring members of these groups are informed and empowered to understand their human rights and what good governance is – and how to make a complaint if necessary.
